Growing vegetable garden on the balcony

Today even those who own a small apartment in the city can use a green corner on the terrace or on the balcony: with a little creativity and some textbook advice, here's how easy it is to create a garden on the balcony. We begin to equip ourselves with pots and watering can. We choose a "vertical" arrangement, for example by recycling an old staircase, in order to optimize all available space. We buy soil rich in nutrients such as iron, mineral salts etc. Then we follow the natural calendar that follows the "life" of each type of vegetable. For example, the most suitable products for cultivation in spring will be aromatic plants such as basil, parsley, chives etc. In autumn, however, we can sow cabbage, savoy cabbage, or vegetables such as beans and peas.

Cultivate the organic vegetable garden

Cultivating the organic garden means adopting a series of procedures and precautions that provide for a method of cultivation respecting the environment. All this produces totally natural foods. Each stage of cultivation is performed absolutely without using any chemical product: from fertilization to the removal of insects etc. So yes to natural fertilizers such as manure, organic compound manure etc. Yes to prevention against pest attacks, so you don't have to take action later. For example, water sparingly avoiding excess water which are inevitable causes of fungi and root rot. A valid help can come from rainwater, which we can collect in containers and use it for "bio" watering. For the realization it is also necessary to choose the right combinations of vegetables. For example, those crops that have good resistance to adversity and pathologies are preferred. Among these we have: onions, garlic, basil, lettuce, tomatoes or courgettes.
