Question: Repotting orchids
First of all, congratulations for the site.
I would like to ask you a question:
in what period is it recommended to transplant the orchid plant from a small to a large pot? Can dead bulbs be extracted? What is the process like?
Waiting for a vs. Answer, best regards.
Orchid repotting: Answer: Orchid repotting
The repotting of orchids must be carried out only when the plant becomes larger than the container. And this in order to obtain abundant blooms. Otherwise the plant continues to make bulbs and blooms little.
The best period for repotting is after flowering.
Here's how to proceed. Remove the plant from the pot by removing the old compost.
The oldest, dried or diseased roots are removed, the old bulbs are removed, and the plant is placed in the pot (slightly larger than the previous one).
Then add the topsoil (which should preferably be so composed: a part of moss, a part of bark and a part of sphagnum peat, but those that are already commercially ready are also fine).
After repotting, orchids should not be wet for 10 days. Subsequently, the watering must be moderate for the first month, until the new roots have formed.
