Rose

The rose is a widespread flower in parks and gardens, thanks to the beauty and majesty of its flowers it is able to embellish and decorate even the most hidden corners. But the rose species are very numerous and not all of them have the same characteristics, therefore, it is good to know the main prerogatives of the different genera to understand which roses are most suitable for growing in the garden. It is good to say that the common rose most known by all is, in reality, a variety of this boundless world, called as a hybrid of tea, the result of crossbreeding and hybridizations that have made it perfect both for cultivation in the garden and as cut flower, thanks to the long stem.

But the varieties are manifold and to give a first subdivision it is possible to distinguish between the flourishing ones and those that are not; the latter produce flowers only on the growth of the previous year.

Variety of roses

The large quantity of different species of rose can create some doubts on the most suitable cultivation method to obtain long and luxuriant blooms; for this, it is good to know which are the most common types of rose present in nature.

There are several groups of roses, such as botanical roses, which are the ones from which all subsequent hybridizations were born and which grow spontaneously. An example of a rose of this type is the dog rose, a type widely distributed in Italy which is also used for the preparation of herbal products and creams for different uses, given its particular anti-inflammatory and disinfectant properties.

Another type of rose is the floribunda variety, born from the crossing of hybrid tea roses and polyanthe roses to obtain plants with good rusticity and the presence of a prolonged and luxuriant flowering. A very particular variety and appreciated for the particularity of the flowers, which present varied and particularly fascinating colors, is that of the Impressionist roses, which took their name from the fact that for their production, the hybridizers were inspired by the paintings of this current pictorial.
